At T.D. Smith safety is our number one priority.

Proactive in our safety policies and procedures in order to avoid costly mistakes, we regularly send our staff to safety workshops and work with a number of external safety organizations to make sure that your goods are safely transported.

In order to keep your deliveries on time, we hold the correct certifications for all states and provinces across all of Canada and the United States so that we can cross borders seamlessly, safely and according to local laws and regulations.

  • Kosher Certified (Kashruth Council of Canada)
  • Certified by Transport Canada as B620 Tank Testing Facility and Certified Inspection Station

  • Carrier bonds certificate and ICC certificate
  • Diageo Certified
  • Certificate of Insurance – We’ve been working with the same insurance company since 1976

In house we have a dedicated safety and security department and a comprehensive safety policy covering:

  •  In-house driver orientation and training
  • A preventative maintenance program 
  • In-house safety meetings as well as daily and bi-weekly driver safety memos
  • Semi-annually driver safety seminars
  • Pre-delivery site inspections for new bulk accounts
  • Driver Training
  • 24-hour emergency response with CANUTEC and CHEMTREC

Externally we work with:

  • Driver Check (Drug and Alcohol Enrollment)
  • Regular in-house audits from Insurance, Kashruth Council of Canada (kosher), CTPAT, PIP and JPA
  • Driver training through WHMIS, Hazmat Security, Dangerous Goods, Hours of Service and Defensive Driving
  • 24-hour emergency response with CANUTEC and CHEMTREC
